Minimal wages
There are 2 minimal wage laws in Minnesota: the state and federal minimal wages. Minimum rates apply to all hours worked with the exceptions  to babysitters, volunteers to non-profit organization. Rates for large companies are $6.15 an hour for large employers. For small employers are $5.12 an hour. The training wage is $4.90 an hour.

When can you get a job
A minor who is less then 16 may not work before 7am or after 9pm with the exception of paper boy no more than 40 hours a week and no more than 8 hours per 24 hour period with the exception for for agriculture on school hours without a certificate.
A 16 or 17 year old children may not work after 11pm on evening before school days or before 5am.
